HOW TO GET STARTED!
Denny Singh, LPC-S, LCDC
I am a licensed professional counselor, who received my Master’s in Counseling from University of North Texas (Go Mean Green!) and licensed chemical dependency counselor. I have more than 15 years of experience working in juvenile justice, nonprofit, public school and private practice settings. My focus is on working with adolescents, males, those on the autism spectrum and their families. I view each individual as a PERSON deserving to be understood NOT PUZZLE to be solved, with the power to learn, grow and heal from life challenges.

FOCUS AREAS
Addiction
Read more...
As a licensed chemical dependency counselor (LCDC), I assist people in recovery from addiction including substance abuse and problem behaviors. I offer a full drug assessment (FDA) for $295, which consists of inital screening, interview and written report that can be provided to courts or other third parties if required. This assessment looks at relevant factors in determining risk of addiction and appropriate treatment/services if needed.
When in doubt whether you or a loved one struggles with substance abuse, be proactive in getting knowledge, support and help. Recovery is possible!
Adolescents
Read more...
Adolescence can be like a roller coaster exciting and scary at the same time both for children and their parents! For example why when social media offers the illusion of being more “connected”, do adolescents feel more alone and anxious than ever?
I view it as a time of great change with challenges and opportunities for growth. Parents need encouragement and support in helping children navigate pitfalls like anxiety, depression, substance use, and poor decision-making. Effective counseling should create “buy-in” for your child, ignite the fire of active participation and create a trusting safe place to explore and heal from our “hurts”.
Autism (ASD)
While most therapists choose their areas of focus, this area chose me. I am the proud father of a son on the autism spectrum whose mission is to help others in our tribe. I am aware of the challenges families face although each journey, like each individual with autism, is unique. I believe those on the spectrum are not puzzles to be solved but people who deserve to be understood, with the ability to overcome challenges they experience. No matter where you find yourself on your journey with autism, I am here to help you make progress toward the future you envision!
Males
Read more...
As a male, I understand the concerns and hesitancy men have about therapy. Whether a decision is for yourself or those you love, it is a brave first step in breaking away from how society defines “being a man” in limited, unhealthy ways. I believe males can reconnect emotionally, regain their true power by being vulnerable, reap the benefits of intimacy and lead healthier lives as sons, husbands and fathers.

Culturally Diverse Clients
Read more...
Societies are becoming more diverse resulting in increasing number of individuals with multiracial and cultural backgrounds. Being one of these people myself, I am sensitve to the strengths and challenges that brings. Adolescents especially struggle with self-identity in finding a place in the world. I am passionate about helping them explore their past and present to move toward a more confident future.
MY APPROACH
My approach is based on my beliefs in the power of relationships and a person’s ability to make positive change. I take a strengths-based, trauma-informed perspective that asks “what’s happened to you?” rather than “what’s wrong with you?”, using strengths in overcoming obstacles to leading fulling lives.
In working with people, I use a collaborative approach that when needed, builds on individual counseling by involving others whom support a person’s well being and positive change. Therapy is not a magical “quick fix” but can offer hope and results to those willing to put in the effort to change.

Frequently Asked Questions
How can counseling help?
Counseling provides a safe environment where your thoughts, feelings and behavior can be explored in a nonjudgmental, supportive manner. Many people benefit from talk therapy in reducing symptoms related to specific conditions, healing from trauma and making positive change.
How long does counseling take?
The number of sessions needed is related to the issue addressed in counseling, the effort put into the process and progress made over the course of treatment. Counseling is not a guarantee of a specific outcome but many people benefit from talk therapy.
How much does counseling cost?
Services including counseling sessions start at $130 depending on type and length of service. Additional time outside regular sessions is billed at a prorated rate. Payment is due at time of service.
Please contact me for costs of specific services including full drug assessments (FDA) and group counseling if available. If finances are a barrier to services, we can explore options and resources.
Do you take my health insurance?
I am an in-network provider with several health insurance companies including Blue Cross/Blue Shield, Cigna, United Healthcare, and some EAPs (Employee Assistance Programs).
For other insurance companies, I can provide documentation to submit for reimbursement as an out-of-network provider. Please contact me regarding health insurance status and your health insurance company regarding any out-of-network benefits.
